For a sweet takeaway, Mexican wedding cookies were wrapped in bold fabrics.
Vibrant vintage ribbons did double duty—they drew attention to the stunning cake while camouflaging a not-so-interesting part of the room.
The reception was held at The Tasting Room at Creative Edge Parties-- the perfect space for a bright party!
Gilded animal figurines, which stood in for table numbers, mingled with vintage pitchers and votives.
A little bit rustic, a whole lot of glam: That was the goal when Mayra’s team topped wooden farmhouse tables with metallic lace fabric, molten-gold chargers and delicate white china.
Calligraphed cards hand-stamped with a buffalo, an elephant or a horse guided guests to their tables.
Mayra opted for a more delicate bouquet of baby‘s breath.
The couple got creative with their wedding invites and sent out a personalized record to announce the occasion.
The Bride: Mayra Castillo, 34, cofounder of AaB Creates

The Groom: Aja Baxter, 38, an attorney

As a professional wedding planner, Mayra Castillo relied on her arsenal of resources (and major help from her friend and business partner, Xochitl)to produce her two-part wedding. First up: an intimate ceremony and sit-down dinner for 35 of their nearest and dearest, and then a tacos-and-tequila dance party as 35 more friends arrived at 9 p.m. Vivid colors, metallic accents, fresh fruits and animal motifs all helped tie the evening’s theme, hacienda glam, together.
